Building on the phenomenal success of the drama and music departments, dance offers pupils the opportunity to gain new skills and develop a well-rounded artistic pedigree.

Jazz, ballet, tap, street, hip hop and contemporary are all styles brought together in the yearly showcase, where boys and girls from years 7 to 13 perform in the Seckford Theatre. These evenings are always a huge success, enjoyed by both those participating and spectating.

In addition to the actual dance performances, pupils are taught the requirements of performing in a professional show.

Dance is also offered as part of the Seckford Scheme activities, giving pupils the exciting opportunity of working towards a BTEC Certificate in Performing Arts (Dance). This qualification will not only allow pupils to dance and learn different techniques and styles, it will also teach them how to organise and produce professional dance shows as well as choreographing their own pieces of work.
