We are celebrating 350 years with a range of events and souvenirs.

Music

Music at Woodbridge School is nationally regarded as exceptional. Many pupils regularly train and perform with some of the UK’s most prestigious youth orchestras and choirs. Yet music is not an elite activity at Woodbridge - the emphasis is on enjoyment and involvement for all. The repertoire remains refreshingly wide, with contemporary music such as rock, folk and jazz sitting comfortably alongside classical pieces.

Girl with Harp
With three full orchestras, three bands, five choirs and more than twenty smaller ensembles, our musicians give over sixty concerts and recitals each year. Many of these are on behalf of local or national charities and are performed in Suffolk churches, local arts centres or at the Snape Maltings Concert Hall. Regular tours to Europe attract large audiences.

The fully refurbished Britten-Pears Music School, comprising of recital and practice rooms, together with a fully digital IT suite for composition, are a hub of activity throughout the week.

The Woodbridge choirs are remarkable for the numbers of boys and girls who choose, through sheer enjoyment, to continue singing throughout their years at the School …and beyond.

We are justifiably proud of the record of Oxbridge choral scholarships awarded to Woodbridge pupils.
