The School has a designated Church of England Foundation, but boys and girls from other denominations and religions are welcome. All pupils attend Chapel during the week and these are organised by the Chaplain with the assistance of other members of staff and pupils. They cover a broad range of religious, social and moral issues and are designed to open minds rather than to convert; consequently those of a non-Christian faith will not be offended by the content.
Holy Communion is celebrated in the Chapel every Sunday at 9.30a.m. and at major Christian festivals. Pupils of all denominations are welcome, as are their parents and friends.
The School has its own Chapel and the School Chaplain, who is an Anglican priest, is a full-time member of the teaching staff. He is central to the pastoral care in the School and is available for confidential consultation by pupils and parents at all times.
Those pupils who wish to be Confirmed at the annual Confirmation Service in the School Chapel are prepared by the Chaplain.
The Chapel is an area of contemplation and warmth where any pupil is welcome to sit quietly, pray, think, or just “be”; away from the busy activity of a thriving school.
